The Gandhi-Nehru family

The Gandhi-Nehru family is a prominent Indian political family influential in India’s independence and governance. Mahatma Gandhi, a leader in India’s independence movement, inspired many others but was not directly related to the Nehru family. Jawaharlal Nehru, a close associate of Gandhi, became India’s first Prime Minister. His daughter, Indira Gandhi, and grandson, Rajiv Gandhi, also served as Prime Ministers. The family’s legacy is marked by their leadership in shaping modern India, often blending political service with a familial dynasty, influencing the nation’s politics for much of the 20th century.
