The Fusor
A fusor is a device that attempts to recreate nuclear fusion—the process powering the sun—by forcing atomic nuclei to collide at high speeds. It uses strong electric fields within a vacuum chamber to accelerate ions (charged atoms) toward a central point. When these ions collide with enough energy, they can fuse together, releasing a small amount of energy. Fusors are primarily used for educational and research purposes, and they're not efficient enough for power generation. Nonetheless, they demonstrate the fundamental principles of nuclear fusion in a controlled environment.
