The Free French Forces

The Free French Forces were soldiers and resistance fighters led by General Charles de Gaulle during World War II, who continued to oppose Nazi occupation after France's fall in 1940. They operated outside of Nazi-controlled France, coordinating with Allies to fight against the Axis powers, and aimed to restore France’s independence. The Free French Forces included military units, guerrilla fighters, and government-in-exile members committed to resisting occupation and later participated in key Allied campaigns, helping to liberate France and contribute to the victory in Europe.
