The Four Great Vows
The Four Great Vows are core commitments in Mahayana Buddhist practice that guide practitioners toward compassion and enlightenment. They are: 1) To save all beings from suffering, recognizing everyone's interconnectedness; 2) To end all delusions and ignorance that cause suffering; 3) To realize the true nature of reality beyond illusions; and 4) To attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings. These vows encourage selfless service, continuous growth, and a deep dedication to helping others attain peace and understanding, reflecting a universal aspiration to cultivate compassion and wisdom for the collective good.
