The Four Fields of Anthropology
The Four Fields of Anthropology are: Cultural Anthropology, which studies human culture, beliefs, and social practices; Archaeology, examining past human societies through artifacts and ancient sites; Biological (or Physical) Anthropology, focusing on human evolution, genetics, and biological diversity; and Linguistic Anthropology, exploring how language shapes and reflects human experience. Together, these fields offer a comprehensive understanding of humanity—our history, biology, cultures, and languages—by analyzing both contemporary and ancient aspects of human life. This integrated approach helps us better understand what it means to be human across time and space.
