The Forms of Capital (Bourdieu)

Bourdieu's concept of the forms of capital describes different resources people use to gain advantage in society. Economic capital is money and wealth; cultural capital includes education, skills, and tastes; social capital consists of relationships, networks, and social connections; and symbolic capital is prestige or recognition. These forms of capital often interact, helping individuals access opportunities, influence, and social standing. Understanding these helps explain how social inequalities persist and how people mobilize different resources to improve their circumstances.
