The Five Ps of Strategy
The Five Ps of Strategy, developed by Henry Mintzberg, are five different ways to think about and approach strategy. They are: Plan (a deliberate set of actions to achieve goals), Pattern (consistent behavior over time), Position (how the organization fits in the market), Perspective (the core mindset or culture), and Ploy (a specific maneuver to outsmart competitors). Together, these perspectives help organizations develop a comprehensive understanding of their strategic approach, balancing deliberate planning with adaptive responses to changing circumstances.
