The Five E's
The Five E’s are a teaching framework used to enhance learning, especially in science education. They stand for Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. First, Engage captures students’ interest. Next, Explore involves hands-on activities to encourage inquiry. Explain allows students to articulate their understanding and teachers to clarify concepts. Elaborate provides opportunities to deepen knowledge through additional activities. Finally, Evaluate assesses comprehension and skills. This cycle promotes active learning, critical thinking, and helps students develop a meaningful understanding of the subject.
