The Fetal Development Stage

The fetal development stage is the final phase of pregnancy, beginning around the ninth week after conception and continuing until birth. During this time, the embryo develops into a fetus, with organs, muscles, and tissues maturing. The fetus grows rapidly, gaining weight and length, and begins to move, respond to stimuli, and develop senses. Key structures like the brain, heart, lungs, and other organs become more functional, preparing the baby for life outside the womb. This stage culminates in full development, enabling the fetus to survive and thrive after birth.
