The Expanded Universe

The Expanded Universe (EU), now called "Legends," refers to all the books, comics, and media created outside the original Star Wars movies. It includes stories about characters, planets, and events that enrich the franchise’s universe. These works provide deeper context and explore different timelines, adding complexity beyond the films. However, when Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, much of the EU was reclassified as Legends, with only the films and select media considered official canon. The EU remains a popular and extensive part of Star Wars lore, offering fans additional stories and world-building beyond the movies.
