The Event (Ereignis)

In probability theory, an event (Ereignis) is a specific outcome or a group of outcomes that can occur in a random experiment. For example, when rolling a die, getting a 4 is an event, as is rolling an even number (2, 4, or 6). Events help us describe and analyze the likelihood of different results. They can be simple (single outcome) or compound (multiple outcomes). Understanding events allows us to calculate probabilities, predict outcomes, and analyze uncertainty systematically.
