The Earth and Its Atmosphere

Earth is a large, rocky planet with a breathable atmosphere that surrounds it. The atmosphere is made up mainly of nitrogen (about 78%) and oxygen (about 21%), along with small amounts of other gases like carbon dioxide and argon. It acts as a protective blanket, regulating temperature, blocking harmful radiation, and enabling life through the presence of oxygen and the water cycle. The atmosphere is divided into layers, including the troposphere (where weather occurs), stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere, each playing vital roles in maintaining the planet’s ecological balance and shielding life from space hazards.
