The Dual Coding Theory

The Dual Coding Theory suggests that our brain processes information through two channels: verbal (words and language) and non-verbal (images, visuals). When we learn something, using both channels together—like reading about a concept while also seeing a diagram—helps us understand and remember it better. This is because information is encoded in two different ways, creating more connections in our brain. Essentially, combining words and images makes learning more effective, as it taps into different ways our mind processes and stores information.
