The DREAM Act

The DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act) is a U.S. legislative proposal aimed at providing a pathway to legal residency for certain undocumented immigrants who were brought to the country as children. To qualify, individuals must meet specific criteria, such as having attended school, achieving a high school diploma or GED, and having no serious criminal record. The act intends to enable these individuals, often referred to as "Dreamers," to pursue higher education, secure employment, and contribute to society without the fear of deportation.
