The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is the federal agency responsible for enforcing laws and ensuring justice across the United States. It oversees and defends the country’s legal rights, prosecutes criminal cases, and represents the government in court. The DOJ also works to prevent crime, uphold civil rights, and ensure fair legal processes. Led by the Attorney General, it includes various divisions such as the FBI and U.S. Attorneys' offices, coordinating efforts to maintain law and order, protect citizens, and uphold the rule of law nationwide.
