the Deese-Roediger-McDermott paradigm

The Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) paradigm is a psychological method used to study memory errors. Participants are shown lists of related words (like "bed," "sleep," "dream") but not the key word they all relate to (such as "night"). Later, they often falsely remember hearing the key word, demonstrating how our memory can create false impressions by associating related concepts. This phenomenon highlights how memory isn’t perfect and can be influenced by associations and schemas, leading us to remember things that never actually occurred.
