The Declaration of Faith

The Declaration of Faith, also known as the Shahada in Islam, is the statement that affirms a person's belief in the core tenets of the religion. It states, "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger." This declaration signifies a person's commitment to worshiping the one God (Allah) and accepting Muhammad as His prophet. Reciting it sincerely is the first step in converting to Islam and is considered the foundation of a Muslim's faith. It emphasizes the monotheistic belief central to Islam and the recognition of Muhammad’s role as the prophet.
