This intense admiration often leads followers to support and obey the leader uncritically, sometimes ignoring their flaws or abuses. Such cultivation of personality can serve to consolidate power, making it difficult for people to question authority. It's often seen in authoritarian regimes, where leaders manipulate perceptions to maintain control, emphasizing loyalty and admiration over genuine democratic or critical engagement.
