The Cruyff Turn

The Cruyff Turn is a skill in soccer used to evade a defender. When a player is dribbling toward an opponent, they quickly drag the ball behind their standing leg with the inside of their foot, then turn sharply and accelerate in the opposite direction. This move confuses the defender, making it difficult for them to predict the player's next move. Named after legendary Dutch player Johan Cruyff, it’s an effective way to maintain control, create space, and continue advancing with the ball. Proper timing and fluid motion are key to executing the Cruyff Turn successfully.
