The Crown Court
The Crown Court is a court in England and Wales that handles serious criminal cases, such as violent crimes, major thefts, and other offenses that require a higher level of judicial authority. It conducts trials where a judge and, sometimes, a jury decide whether the accused is guilty. The court also deals with sentencing those found guilty. The Crown Court operates separately from magistrates' courts, which handle less serious offenses. It plays a key role in ensuring justice by thoroughly examining evidence, hearing witnesses, and delivering fair verdicts in complex criminal cases.
