The Cricketer
A cricketer is a person who plays cricket, a popular team sport originating from England. Cricket involves two teams, each taking turns to bat (try to score runs) and field (try to dismiss the batsmen). The game is played on a large oval-shaped field with a rectangular pitch at its center. Cricketers perform specialized roles: batsmen hit the ball, bowlers throw it to dismiss batsmen, and fielders catch or stop the ball. The sport requires strategic skill, teamwork, and precise technique. Professional cricketers compete at various levels worldwide, including international matches, domestic leagues, and tournaments.
