The Copper Age

The Copper Age, also known as the Chalcolithic period, is a transitional phase in human history between the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. It marks the first widespread use of copper to make tools and ornaments, combining metalworking with existing stone technologies. This era, roughly around 3000 to 2500 BCE depending on the region, saw advances in agriculture, craftsmanship, and social organization. Copper tools were easier to shape than stone, improving daily life. The Copper Age laid important groundwork for the development of more durable metal tools and complex societies in subsequent periods.
