The Communist League
The Communist League was an early international organization of workers and socialists formed in 1847 to promote revolutionary ideas aimed at overthrowing capitalism. It played a key role in shaping communist thought and was instrumental in supporting Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’s ideas. The League helped organize workers, spread socialist literature, and support revolutionary movements, culminating in the publication of "The Communist Manifesto" in 1848. Its purpose was to unite workers globally in the fight against economic inequality and class oppression, advocating for a society where means of production are collectively owned.
