The Commons (Resource Management)

The Commons refers to shared resources, such as parks, fisheries, or clean air, accessible to all members of a community. Since these resources are open for everyone to use, there’s often little individual incentive to conserve or limit consumption, which can lead to overuse and depletion—known as the "tragedy of the commons." Effective management involves establishing rules, regulations, or cooperative agreements to ensure sustainable use, balancing individual interests with the collective good to prevent resource exhaustion and preserve these shared assets for future generations.
