The Comets
Comets are icy, rocky bodies originating from the outer regions of our solar system. When they venture close to the Sun, they heat up and release gases and dust, forming a glowing atmosphere called a coma and often a bright tail that always points away from the Sun. Comets are remnants from the solar system's formation, providing clues about its early days. They typically have elongated orbits and can be visible from Earth when they pass nearby, offering spectacular celestial displays. Studying comets helps scientists understand the composition and history of our cosmic neighborhood.
