The Coast Guard Auxiliary
The Coast Guard Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that supports the U.S. Coast Guard in safety, security, and waterways stewardship. Members are trained volunteers who assist with activities such as boating safety education, search and rescue, vessel inspections, and environmental protection. They do not have law enforcement powers but work alongside Coast Guard personnel to enhance maritime safety and respond to emergencies. The Auxiliary helps promote safe boating practices, increase visibility of Coast Guard missions, and foster community engagement in maritime safety efforts.
