The Clydebank Blitz

The Clydebank Blitz was a series of German aerial bombings during World War II, specifically on March 13-14, 1941. The German Luftwaffe targeted the shipbuilding town of Clydebank in Scotland, aiming to disrupt wartime manufacturing. The attack caused extensive destruction to homes, factories, and infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of around 500 people and leaving thousands homeless. Despite the devastation, the town quickly organized recovery efforts. The Blitz highlighted the vulnerability of industrial cities during wartime and remains a significant historical event in the UK's wartime experience.
