The Chemical Weapons Convention

The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) is an international treaty that bans the development, production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons. It aims to eliminate existing chemical arms and prevent their future creation, promoting global security. Countries that are parties to the treaty agree to inspect each other's facilities, share safety standards, and cooperate in removing chemical weapons. The CWC helps ensure that chemical weapons are never used again by establishing strict controls, fostering transparency, and encouraging peaceful uses of chemistry. It’s managed by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
