The Canada Learning Bond

The Canada Learning Bond is a government program that provides financial support to help children save for post-secondary education. It offers a cash grant—up to $2,000—directly deposited into a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) for children from low-income families. This money, which doesn’t have to be repaid, encourages early saving and reduces barriers to higher education. To qualify, families must meet specific income criteria and register their child with a suitable RESP provider. The Bond helps make college or university more accessible by giving children a financial head start on education costs.
