The British Object Relations Theory
The British Object Relations Theory is a psychological approach that emphasizes the importance of early relationships, especially with primary caregivers, in shaping our inner world and how we view ourselves and others. It suggests that these early bonds influence our patterns of attachment, emotional well-being, and interpersonal behavior throughout life. The theory focuses on internal mental “objects,” or representations of people we've experienced, which guide our expectations and reactions. Essentially, it highlights how our early experiences with caregivers develop into mental images that affect our adult relationships and emotional health.
