The Borda Count
The Borda Count is a voting method where voters rank candidates in order of preference. Each position in a ranking is assigned a specific number of points: the top choice might earn the most points, the second choice fewer, and so on. After all votes are collected, the points are summed for each candidate. The candidate with the highest total score wins. This method considers voters’ preferences more comprehensively than simple plurality voting, aiming to select a candidate that has broad support across different rankings rather than just majority support.
