The BMI
BMI, or Body Mass Index, is a simple calculation that estimates whether a person's weight is appropriate for their height. It’s calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters. BMI helps identify potential health risks associated with being underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese. While it doesn’t measure body fat directly or account for muscle and other factors, it provides a quick screening tool for assessing weight status and potential health concerns related to body weight.
