The Blackfoot Nation

The Blackfoot Nation is a group of Indigenous peoples native to the Great Plains of North America, primarily in Montana, Canada, and Alberta. They traditionally relied on buffalo hunting, bridge between nomadic and settled lifestyles, and have a rich cultural heritage including distinctive ceremonies and art. The Blackfoot Confederacy, comprising four tribes—Siksika, Kainawa (Blood), Piikani, and Atsina—works to preserve their language, traditions, and sovereignty, while engaging with modern society. They continue to honor their history and adapt to contemporary challenges, maintaining a vibrant cultural identity rooted in their ancestral land.
