The BID model
The BID model, which stands for Belief-Influence-Desire, explains how people develop intentions and take actions. First, beliefs are what we think is true about something. Influence involves external factors like advice or environment that shape our perceptions. Desires are the motivations or wishes that arise from our beliefs and influences. When beliefs and influences align to create a strong desire, a person is more likely to act. Essentially, the BID model shows how our thoughts, external factors, and motivations work together to drive behavior, helping us understand decision-making processes in various contexts.
