The Berlo Model

The Berlo Model, also known as the SMCR Model, explains how communication works between a sender and a receiver. It involves four key parts: Sender (who creates the message), Message (the information shared), Channel (the medium through which it’s sent), and Receiver (the person who receives and interprets it). The model emphasizes that effective communication depends on the sender’s ability to clearly craft the message, choose the right channel, and consider the receiver’s background to ensure understanding. It highlights the importance of these elements working together smoothly for successful communication.
