The BDI Model

The BDI (Beliefs, Desires, Intentions) model is a framework for understanding how intelligent agents, like robots or software, make decisions. It suggests that an agent's behavior is guided by its beliefs (what it knows about the world), desires (its goals or outcomes it wants to achieve), and intentions (the plans it commits to in order to fulfill those goals). By combining these elements, the agent can reason about the best actions to take, adapt to new situations, and pursue its objectives in a coherent and purposeful way.
