The Battle of Uhud

The Battle of Uhud, fought in 625 CE near Medina, was a conflict between the early Muslims and their opponents, the Quraysh of Mecca. Initially, the Muslims gained an advantage, but when some of their fighters disobeyed orders and tried to collect war spoils, the Quraysh regrouped and launched a counterattack. This led to a Muslim retreat and significant casualties, including the death of the Prophet Muhammad’s uncle. The battle taught the Muslims important lessons about discipline and unity, emphasizing that success in warfare requires both strategy and obedience.
