The Baird System of Television Transmission
The Baird System was an early method of transmitting television signals developed by John Logie Baird. It used a process called mechanical scanning, where a spinning disk with tiny holes scanned an image line by line. These light signals were converted into electrical signals, sent over a cable, and then reproduced on a screen. Although it was innovative for its time, it had limitations like low image quality and flickering. Eventually, electronic systems replaced mechanical scanning, leading to the modern television technology we use today.
