The Artemis Program

The Artemis Program is NASA’s mission to return humans to the Moon and establish a sustainable presence there, aiming to inspire technological advances and international collaboration. Named after the Greek goddess of the Moon, Artemis plans to land astronauts, including the first woman and the next man, on the lunar surface by the mid-2020s. The program also involves developing new space vehicles, such as the Space Launch System and the Orion spacecraft, to support long-term exploration. Artemis aims to lay the groundwork for future missions to Mars and beyond, fostering scientific discovery and international cooperation.
