the Army of Twelve
The Army of the Twelve was a secret paramilitary organization formed in 1937 in Lithuania, primarily composed of young activists aiming to promote national independence. They engaged in clandestine activities such as sabotage, intelligence gathering, and anti-Soviet efforts during the period of Soviet occupation. Operating covertly, their goal was to resist Soviet control and support Lithuanian resistance. The group was short-lived, ceasing activities around 1941, but is remembered for its role in fostering national resilience and resistance against foreign domination during a turbulent historical period.
