The Armbar

The armbar is a martial arts technique used to control or submit an opponent by hyperextending their elbow joint. The practitioner positions themselves to secure the opponent's arm, applying pressure along the elbow while keeping it straight. This position can be achieved from various holds or positions, commonly in grappling sports like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or MMA. The goal is to force the opponent to submit or risk pain or injury. It's an effective, disciplined move that relies on leverage and precise positioning to safely control an opponent without causing permanent damage when executed correctly.
