The Antipodes
The antipodes are two points on Earth that are directly opposite each other on the globe. If you could draw a straight line through the center of the Earth from one point, it would exit at its antipode on the opposite side. For example, parts of New Zealand's North Island are antipodal to areas in Spain or China. This concept is useful in geography, navigation, and understanding Earth's global layout. Not all locations have a land-based antipode; many are in the ocean, making the concept more theoretical in such cases.
