The Amps
Amps, short for amperes, measure the flow of electric current through a circuit. Think of current as the amount of electricity moving past a point in a wire each second. Higher amps mean more electricity is flowing at once, which can power more or larger devices. For example, a small LED light uses very few amps, while an electric oven requires many. Properly matching the amperage of devices and circuits ensures safe operation and prevents overheating or damage. In essence, amps quantify how much electrical "stuff" is moving through the system at any given time.
