The Amplitude Modulation Theory

Amplitude Modulation (AM) is a technique used to transmit information, like radio voices, by varying the strength (amplitude) of a high-frequency carrier wave in accordance with the audio signal. Essentially, the original sound wave (audio signal) causes the carrier wave’s amplitude to fluctuate, encoding the information onto the carrier. When received, a receiver isolates these fluctuations and reconstructs the original sound. This method allows voice or music signals to be transmitted over long distances using radio waves, with the amplitude changes directly representing the variations in the original audio signal.
