The American Unitarian Association

The American Unitarian Association (AUA) was a religious organization founded in 1828 that promoted Unitarian beliefs, emphasizing the oneness of God and the importance of reason and individual conscience in faith. It aimed to support liberal religious values, social justice, and education. In 1961, it merged with the Universalist Church of America to form the Unitarian Universalist Association, combining their efforts to foster a pluralistic, inclusive religious community that encourages spiritual growth, community service, and personal exploration.
