The ACE Study

The ACE Study (Adverse Childhood Experiences Study) is a large-scale research that shows how stressful or traumatic experiences in childhood—such as abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction—can negatively impact health and well-being later in life. It found that the more adverse experiences a person has, the higher their risk for health problems like heart disease, depression, and addiction. The study emphasizes the importance of early intervention and support, showing that childhood trauma can have long-lasting effects, but also that healing and resilience are possible through appropriate care and treatment.
