The 8,000ers
The 8,000ers are the 14 mountains on Earth that rise higher than 8,000 meters (about 26,247 feet) above sea level. Located mainly in the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges, they are among the tallest and most challenging peaks to climb. Due to extreme altitude, weather, and technical difficulty, they pose serious risks to climbers. Successfully summiting all 14 is considered one of the greatest achievements in mountaineering. These giants highlight both Earth's geological intensity and human endurance.
