The 7/7 Attacks
The 7/7 attacks were a series of coordinated suicide bombings that targeted London's public transportation system on July 7, 2005. Four Islamic extremists detonated bombs on three subway trains and a double-decker bus during rush hour, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The attacks aimed to instill fear and promote political motives. In total, 52 people died, and hundreds were injured. These attacks marked one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in the UK, prompting increased security measures and counter-terrorism efforts to prevent future violence.
