The 25th Amendment
The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides a legal process for addressing situations where a President or Vice President become unable to perform their duties. It allows the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the President unfit, temporarily transferring power. The President can also voluntarily declare their incapacity. If disputes arise about capability, Congress can decide whether the President can resume office. This amendment helps ensure continuity of government and stability during periods of health issues or emergencies affecting the President.
