The 10-Year War
The 10-Year War, also known as the Taiping Rebellion (1850-1864), was a large-scale civil war in China between the Qing Dynasty and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a rebel movement led by Hong Xiuquan. The rebels sought radical social and religious reforms, aiming to establish a new world order. The conflict resulted in immense destruction, loss of life, and shifting power dynamics within China. It remains one of the deadliest conflicts in history, highlighting struggles over governance, social inequality, and religious upheaval during that period.
